How long it takes to realize?
   Lies how long they take to realize

What would it take to make you see?
What would it break to let it be?
The more you push the more you’re shoved
The more you need the less you love

Won’t take you long to realize

What would it take to make you know
For heaven’s sake just let it go
The more you stake the more you risk
The more you take the less there is

Yes it’s so clear on the page
But when I hold you
   I’ve just got to be kind
I think I’m pushing back
   but I’m pushing inside
The friction just erases my mind

What would it take to make you see
What would it break to let it be

What would it take to turn you around
What would it take to
   push your face in your ground
What would it take to get on down

As I drive my point home
You show me how deep you understand
